Liposuction | Liposculpture | El Paso
We’ve all experienced it: we diet and exercise until we reach our goal weight and fitness level, but there it is…that one remaining area of stubborn fat that just won’t go away. In the past, we were stuck with that little area of pudge on our neck, chin, upper arms, waist, hips, thighs, or inner knees or calves. Twenty years ago, liposuction was introduced as a solution to safely remove unwanted fat and remains one of the most popular options for body contouring today. Advances in techniques, methods, and procedures have made it one of the safest, most effective and popular ways to fine-tune body contours today.
Dr. Gonzalez will customize your liposuction procedure to your specific situation to ensure that you will achieve the best results. To that end, Dr. Gonzalez will provide you with a comprehensive consultation prior to your procedure where he will examine you, review your health history and provide a recommendation for the best type of liposuction procedure to yield the best results. At Image Consultants Plastic Surgery, we individualize our approach based upon each of our patient’s individual needs.
Am I a Good Candidate for Liposuction?
You may be an excellent candidate for liposuction if you:
- Maintain a stable weight
- Do not smoke
- Are in overall good health
- Have realistic expectations for your results
Dr. Gonzalez specializes in performing the Tumescent Liposuction procedure, one of the safest methods of liposuction available today. With Tumescent Liposuction, the basic steps are the same with all liposuction procedures with two main differences: the amount of wetting solution used to dilute the fat and the method used to break up the fat cells. Tumescent liposuction involves pumping a solution containing a saline solution, adrenaline and a local anesthetic into the fatty layer of skin, causing it to swell which facilitates suctioning out the excess fat and helps prevent bleeding and bruising.
This procedure is usually done as an outpatient, under general anesthesia or local anesthesia and sedation. If large volumes of fat are to be removed, an overnight hospital stay is required for surgery and to monitor your condition. We use “super-wet” tumescence and the Power-Assisted Lipoplasty (PAL) System which employs a specialized cannula with mechanized movement to assist Dr. Gonzalez.
Most patients return to their normal activities within a week of having a liposuction procedure.
Dr. Gonzalez will be happy to personally consult with you to help you determine the best treatment plan to achieve your desired results.
