Breast Reduction

Breast Reduction | El Paso

Sometimes we are blessed with too much of a good thing.  Breasts that are too large can cause of back, shoulder and neck pain, poor posture and bra-strap indentations, not to mention impact self-esteem and self-confidence.  Breast Reduction offers a more attractive contour that will give you more self-confidence in addition to physical comfort.

Am I A Candidate for Breast Reduction?

You may be a candidate for breast reduction surgery if:

  • Your breasts cause you physical and emotional discomfort
  • You are in good overall health
  • You do not smoke
  • You have realistic expectations for your results

The Procedure

Breast Reduction is performed under general anesthesia. Dr. Gonzalez will make one of two kinds of incisions in your breasts: the lollipop, which circles the areola and down the center of the breast to the crease or an anchor-shaped incision. Both are made in a fashion that will minimize visible scarring after surgery. The type of incision Dr. Gonzalez chooses will depend on breast shape, size, and other factors. He will then remove excess breast tissue, fat and skin are removed, and the breast is re-shaped into a smaller, more attractive contour. The incisions are then closed and sterile dressings applied.

Recovery

You can expect to be sore and swollen after breast surgery, and you will most likely wear a support bra to help reduce any swelling.  You should be able to return to your normal activities within a week or two.

Dr. Gonzalez will be happy to consult with you personally to help you determine the best treatment plan for your breast reduction surgery.
