Facelift

The face is like a calling card.  It’s the first thing others see when we meet, and it is the most meaningful way we communicate our emotions, thoughts and feelings. It is a communicator of age, stress, and our genetics. As we age, gravity often takes its toll and certain parts of our face tend to droop, sag, and develop wrinkles in the mid-face and neck regions, and try as we  might to ignore it, our age serve as a disadvantage in social and work situations.

Although it is recommended to maintain a daily skin care regimen and seek non-surgical face lift treatments to prolong the necessity of a surgical face lift, surgery is the only way to tighten deep tissues and remove excess skin.

Dr. Gonzalez is trained in modern face lift techniques to achieve the most natural looking results, avoiding the “pulled back” look of the face lifts from previous decades. Dr. Gonzales will customize the facelift for each patient individually to ensure that they results meet the patient’s goals.

What happens during a Facelift?

Facelifts are most often performed as outpatient procedures with general anesthesia. During a facelift, Dr. Gonzalez makes incisions around the ears and within the hairline on the scalp to minimize any visible scarring. Dr. Gonzalez will then tighten both the skin and the deeper tissues of the face and neck, apply sutures and sterile bandages.  After the surgery, there will be very little pain due to the addition of a long-lasting local anesthetic that is administered during the procedure.  There may be some swelling and bruising which will diminish over the next several weeks.

If you wish, a facelift can often be combined with other procedures such as a Brow Lift, Blepharoplasty, or Neck Liposuction to complete the enhancement of your overall appearance.

Dr. Gonzalez will be happy to consult with you personally to help you determine the best options for your desired results.
