Why Consider Having a Breast Lift?
During breast augmentation, the implants are placed into the chest and the skin is repositioned over them. Ideally, the nipple will be as centered as possible over the implant. If the patient has too much excess skin, the implant may not be able to lift the nipple into the correct position. Procedure
Breast augmentation is an outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia. During your surgery, small incisions are made in discrete areas, such as along the areola or under the fold of the breasts. The breast implants are then placed into the chest, either above or below the muscle. If a breast lift is also being performed, your surgeon will remove any excess skin from appropriate areas of the breasts. The areola and nipple are then repositioned and incisions are closed.
