Women choose to have breast augmentation for several reasons. Some desire larger breasts. Others want to replace breast contour that is often lost during pregnancy or simply due to the aging process. Today, both silicone and saline implants are available. Dr. Gonzalez will discuss the options with you during your initial consultation.

Breast Augmentation is generally performed on an outpatient basis with general anesthesia. Dr. Gonzalez will make incisions in one of three locations: under the nipple, under the breast or in the underarm. Again, the choice of incision position is based on current body and breast shape depending on the size and shape of your current breasts, the amount of breast tissue, and your overall body size. Using the same criteria, Dr. Gonzalez will place the implants in one of two locations: either under the breast tissue or underneath the chest muscle, shape and form the breast mound, close the incisions and dress the wounds.
Most patients have very little pain following the surgery as well because long-acting local anesthetic is administered as part of the procedure. Most patients return to work three to five days following surgery. There may be some bruising for a week or so and some swelling for a few weeks following your procedure.
